Sweetie survey pt 2

So I've been requested to do this survey, and in all honesty it sounds fun, so here goes:

1. She's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?
SVU, Fox News :(, Any show about an enormously large family and their life

2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does she get on his salad?
RANCH, no matter where we are, buttermilk ranch if they have it

3. What's one food she doesn't like?
Hamburger corn pie, Casseroles, Scallops, among a larger list

4. You go out to eat and have a drink. What does she order?
Coke, or if you're from the South: Coca-Cola is the type of coke she likes

5. Where did she go to high school?
Jackson Prep- I'll leave off any comments as I've come to respect the place much more

6. What size shoe does she wear?
5-6

7. What is something she likes to do but never gets to do?
Pick her fingernails- I try not to let her, hehe

8. What is her favorite type of sandwich?
Meatball sub from subway, Turkey sub from Lennys, PB and J from those gross frozen uncrusties. They'd have to duke it out for top sandwich because I don't really know between them.

9. What would she eat every day if he could?
A row of oreos- wait, she does, but she'd eat em for every meal if she could I bet.

10. What is her favorite cereal?
Regular Cheerios or Wheaties with so much sugar that they're worse than ice cream :)

11. What would she never wear?
Cut off blue jean shorts (I stole her answer), some of the goofy hats I try to get her to buy at the Anthro, and a long list because she has a picky, though varied style

12. What is her favorite sports team?
Ole Miss Rebels, MC fighting Chocs!

13. Who did she vote for?
John McCain/Sarah Palin and most Republicans

14. Who is her best friend?
Me! That's partly why we got married. But if we're not talking about me I'd have to go with El, Logi Bear, her sis, or her mom

15. What is something you do that she wishes you wouldn't do?
Toot, ever, anywhere. God should have designed me with a superior exhaust system. Post on the blog in yellow, she hates that color.

16. What is her heritage?
English/Scandinavian but she really doesn't know for sure. Her grandparents could be aliens for all we know.

17. You bake her a cake for his birthday; what kind?
I'm way to scared to try that, but if I do I'd do white cake with vanilla icing or strawberry cake with vanilla icing

18. Did she play sports in high school?
Cheerleading

19. What could she spend hours doing?
Blogging, reading peoples blogs, making lists, reorganizing list, finding better methods for making list and organizing them online, shopping for organizational tools and list making tools online, and napping while snuggling with a kitty.

20. What is one unique talent/gift she has?
She has a big heart for individuals. I'm the one who cares about big things but miss the small person. She falls in love with every little child she meets, especially the special needs kids. She just has a heart for people in hard times.

Ugh.....

I just feel gross. I feel like my face is probably the color of this font. I know I shouldn't complain because I have really had a relatively easy and uneventful pregnancy, but the past couple of days have been miserable.

I guess the last few weeks sort of spoiled me; I felt like the iron supplements must be working and my nesting instincts were kicking in! I actually felt like I was getting a lot done (I never feel that way).

Anyway, Sunday night I just could not get any good sleep and I had to wake up early Monday. Monday I didn't feel great and since yesterday it's been downhill. I had pretty much given up naps a few weeks ago (which is so strange for me, I love naps, but I was starting to hate them and really not need them), but today I took TWO. I know, that's bad, isn't it? Mainly, I just feel so nauseous, my ribs hurt, and I'm having a hard time breathing--all normal pregnancy symptoms.

P.S. I got ALL the questions right on the "Sweetie Survey"! Pretty good, huh?

Sweetie Survey

I I have seen this on several blogs and the Facebook and I thought it would be fun to post about my sweetie. Then I'm going to get him to do it and we'll see if we got all the questions right!

1. He's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?
the news, Law and Order, SVU, or House

2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad?
usually the house dressing or a vinegrette (sp?)

3. What's one food he doesn't like?
Uh, a food Peyton doesn't like? I don't think that exists. Just kidding, he doesn't like Hot Pockets and makes fun of me because I do (just the pepperoni kind, though)

4. You go out to eat and have a drink. What does he order?
Well assuming it's a nice restaurant and not in Rankin county, some kind of mixed drink. If not, just water.

5. Where did he go to high school?
Madison Central--the public vs. private school debate is never ending

6. What size shoe does he wear?
12, I think

7. What is something he likes to do but never gets to do?
travel

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich?
grilled chicken

9. What would he eat every day if he could?
ice cream and chocolate

10. What is his favorite cereal?
some kind of chex stuff that the Kroger never has, so he stockpiles it

11. What would he never wear?
cute off blue jean shorts (there's not much he wouldn't wear)

12. What is his favorite sports team?
Ole Miss Rebels and New York Jets

13. Who did he vote for?
Some third party candidate. He really votes with conviction and I know some people might think it's stupid, but I respect him for doing his research and finding the person he truly believed most matched his views and then supporting that candidate with his vote.

14. Who is his best friend?
Me! I was his best friend before we were married, before we feel in love, before we even dated.

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do?
When I cry hysterically about silly things and when I bite my finger nails

16. What is his heritage?
I think his family came from Austria.

17. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind?
chocolate chip poundcake

18. Did he play sports in high school?
swim team and cross country

19. What could he spend hours doing?
not much. I don't think he could spend hours doing any one thing; he has ADD (really ADHD)

20. What is one unique talent/gift he has?
He's a very generous and selfless person. He's especially generous with his time. He goes out of his way to serve me, our families and friends, his patients, and complete strangers. He's the one who always stops to check on someone with a flat tire (I'm the one who calls him and fusses when he does this kind of thing, because he's not home on time).

And to finish out the post, I must tell two "Sweetie Stories" I've been meaning to post.
Story #1
As I said, we were great friends long before we dated. Well, one night when we were still just friends (my senior year in hs, his senior year at Ole Miss) we kissed. I freaked (see #15 from the survey-hysterical crying and nail biting defiantly occured). I was convinced we had a) made things very awkward between us b) messed up my (desired) relationship with another boy and c) really messed up one of the best friendships I'd ever had. I also felt kind of bad for kissing a boy I wasn't dating; it seemed kind of promiscuous (sp?) at the time. We talked a long time and then I went in and wrote in my journal. Cleaning out the closet in the nursery, I found that journal and the specific entry. I had written about how upset I was but I ended the entry with Romans 8:28- "In all things, we know God works for the good of those who love Him.....". I knew that this was going to be bad, but somehow as powerful and the Lord is he could bring some good from this terrible incident. But who would have thought that the good would come in the form of a beautiful marriage and now a beautiful baby? WOW, I love that story :)

Story #2
(This one is not as inspiring, just funny)
The other morning when I got out of the tub I caught Peyton telling Darth that she was a "beautiful Egyptian princess". Oh my goodness, if he says this to his cat, what is this man going to say to his daughter? I felt better, however, when I read this. Thank you, Michael.

81st Academy Awards

I enjoyed the Oscars this year in general. I really liked the way they had previous winners present the nominees and I LOVED the "The Musical is Back" dance number (I love musicals). Another thing I really liked was the romance montage. And of course, the fashion! It's always fun to see what the stars are wearing, even though it was pretty understated this year (speculation is that it's b/c of the recession--not that it's affecting the stars directly, but that their trying to be respectful). Anyway, Slumdog really cleaned up last night! I haven't seen it, but Peyton loved it and I will probably rent it when it comes out on Netflix.

Here is what I didn't like: the brash liberalism of Hollywood's elite. Okay, Joy Bahar told me this morning on The View that everyone has a right to free speech. Having been an American citizen all my life I wasn't aware of that and am so glad she pointed it out to me! I understand that everyone has a right to their opinions and has a right to express them, but I get tired of these people using fun awards shows as a forum for their radical agendas. The two most prominent examples were Sean Penn and Bill Maiher. Bill Maiher told the audience that "
some day we all do have confront the notion that our silly gods cost the world too greatly". Of course, I think he was maybe a little bitter that his film, Religulous, got ZERO nominations. And Sean Penn was a tad controversial (as usual) telling Americans, "I think it is a good time for those who voted for the ban against gay marriage to sit and reflect, and anticipate their great shame and the shame in their grandchildren’s eyes if they continue that way of support." I have been sitting reflecting all morning AND anticipating the "great shame" that I and Ann Peyton's children will feel over my sopporting what I beleive God created to be shared between one man and one woman and after all my reflection, I have decided I anticipate no great shame. Thanks for the challange, though, really. So, like I said these guys have a right to their opinions, but come on, let us just enjoy the awards! Who knows though? Maybe if I ever won best actress, I would decide that my acceptance speech, was, in fact, the most appropriate forum to use to express my strongly pro-life convictions. Then I would be glad I had my education degree to fall back on because I would never work in Hollywood again!

Friday's Fave Five

[friday+fave+five+12.jpg]

*Here are some of my current favorite things*

1. Coats

http://www.shopstyle.com/uim/y2008/d347/15/150c0b2034ca86c088bdfd77c9c89575.jpg

Okay, I just love coats in the winter time. I have far too many, but it is hard for me to resist a cute coat. I actually bought two this year in mediums with the specific purpose of wearing them during my pregnancy. Peyton gave me a little bit of a hard time. But after a couple of Sundays of wearing a buttoned up coat to church over a not so flattering dress, he said he never would have given me such trouble had he known the coats would be the outfit as well as the outerwear.

2. Storage Boxes
I love organizing and plastic boxes are so helpful. I hate putting things in cardboard boxes, for some reason this just seems neater. I have been really working on getting everything more organized before Ann Peyton gets here.

3. Aprons
I have a bit of an obsession with cute aprons. I just feel so feminine and a little like a '50s housewife when I wear an apron. It really is a great motivational tool for cooking! I treated myself to a Christmas apron and a Valentines apron this year!

I think that I should post a picture of my Valentine's apron (it had a cute extra to go with it--you'll see what I mean).

4. Bathrobes

Yet another thing I have far to many of. I just love them. They are so comfy and kind of give me the same feminine, vintage feeling of an apron, just without the implication I should be working (more the implication that I should be lounging). Such a luxury!

5. My Sweetie

Handsome Hubby

This is my favorite thing on the list and one the most precious gifts the Lord has ever given me! Isn't he handsome?
