Won't You Read to Me? Wednesday

This week I decided that I would share some of the books Ann Peyton got for her birthday. Just like I said last week, apparently I have been very successful at conveying my desire for her to have an extensive library of children's books, because she got more books than anything else!

First of all, my sweet friend, Sue (who gave her her precious Storybook Bible for Girls when she was born), gave her THREE books:

Goodnight Little Bunny
by Jane Yolen Illustrated by Sam Williams
This little Touch and Feel book about a bunny's bedtime is so sweet and has a very soothing rhyme to it.

Rise and Shine!
Illustrated by Tim Warnes
I love this song! The book goes through EVERY verse and has cute little accompanying illustrations.

What Do You Say?

by Mandy Stanley
What a cute book to teach animal sounds. It's so colorful and fun to read!

Ms. Darlene, the director of our Mother's Day Out program and a dear personal friend of ours, gave Annie this adorable book...

Fancy Nancy's Favorite Fancy Words: From Accessories to Zany
by Jane O'Connor
Illustrated by Robin Reiss Glasser
I can't get over this one! It's an alphabet book of "fancy" words such as "boa", "monogram" and "parasol". Every girl needs this book!

My best friend and roommate from college, Logan, gave Annie such a sweet bunny book....

Guess How Much I Love You
by Sam McBratney
Illustrated by Anita Jeram
What could be sweeter than this little board book about Big Nutbrown Hare and Little Nutbrown Hare? Not too many things!

She also (among other things) had a book for me...
Baby Sign Language: A Practical Guide to Signing With Your Baby
by Alison Mackonochie
I'm excited about starting to teach Annie some signs. She loves Patty Cake and catches on to things like that so quickly (she's just SO smart), so I think this will be a fun activity! So the picture quality is terrible; it was the only one I would find!

Our friends Patrick and Haley (and baby Hank) knew this book would be a real crowd pleaser....
Hello, Colonel Rebel!
Aimee Aryal
Illustrated by Danny Moore
In this book, we follow Colonel Rebel around Ole Miss as he makes his way to Vaught-Heminway Stadium for a football game....super cute!

And Peyton's sister and her family gave Annie a cute colorful book about life on a farm...
Big Red Barn
by Margaret Wise Brown
Illustrate by Felicia Bond
This fun little book is by one of my favorite children's book authors, Margaret Wise Brown. She wrote Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny!

Annie is loving her new books already! And we've had so much fun reading them to her. One thing she has done new this week is started to actually sit for a few minutes and "read" her books to herself. I love is so much fun to see her starting to take an interest in them

So, something weird is going on with MckLinkly. Just leave me a comment if you decide to participate!
