31 Days of Ordinary Wonder: Introduction

I'm going to share a bit more tomorrow about a few specific things that helped me chose this topic to write on for the month of October, but I'm noticing so often how much wonder there is in the small, tiny, ordinary things that make up the Earth and our days.

This year is going to be sort of similar to last year in that, while some days I may plan to write about some general idea or thought in advance, most days I just want it to be me writing about the places where I catch a glimpse of wonder in our days. I'm not going to try to force things and I'm not going to use a super narrow definition of words. Wonder, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder and the whole point of this exercise is to look for it, however small and ordinary and seemingly insignificant it may be.

The picture above of Graves was taken the day before we moved back to Mississippi from Brooklyn, New York. It was taken at Fort Greene Park- an amazing space in our beautiful neighborhood. It was one of the best days ever and one full of wonder.

Here's to finding more of it!
